Saturday Intermediate Jewelry, Wendy Thurlow 2026

This class is for the beginner to intermediate student who wants to expand creativity and skills. Students must feel confident enough to solder on their own, or with little assistance. In this class we will move away from beginner projects and start to expand your skill set into more complex designs and techniques. Focus will be on earrings and rings, craftsmanship and finishing will be emphasized. Complex soldering techniques, fabrication, stone setting, texturing, and forming will be introduced. Tips for creative problem solving will be discussed. New techniques and original projects will be shown each session. Students must know studio safety. Limited supplies can be purchased in class.

Advanced Independent Jewelry, Wendy Thurlow 2026

Advanced independent study with a twist. Please bring your own projects. In this class, students will expand on existing skills. Focus on craftsmanship and design will be emphasized. Complex and advanced stone setting techniques, fabrication and mechanisms. Learn and expand your skills while developing your creativity. Students must be able to solder independently and have a design skill set. This is a technique based class. Demos will be introduced throughout the session. Students are expected to develop their own designs and projects, soldering independently, design skills, stone setting & tool safety.

New techniques and original projects will be shown each session. Stones will be used during class, please bring what you have. Learn new skills while developing your creativity. Students must know safety of studio and comfortable soldering alone.

Abstract Mixed Media Collage, Tristina Dietz Elmes 2026

Collage painting is an exciting means of storytelling! In this class we will explore techniques for creating handmade collage papers using mark making, stenciling and the gel plate. In addition, we will use acrylic mediums to create clear image transfers. With colorful acrylics, mediums, brushes and papers in hand, we will paint, cut and glue to build several abstract collage artworks on paper and canvas, bearing in mind the principles of composition as we create. Finishing layers will be added to the artworks with pencils, acrylic markers, 3-D paints or artist crayons.
