This class is for the beginner to intermediate student who wants to expand creativity and skills. Students must feel confident enough to solder on their own, or with little assistance. In this class we will move away from beginner projects and start to expand your skill set into more complex designs and techniques. Focus on chain making, craftsmanship and finishing will be emphasized. Complex soldering techniques, fabrication, texturing, and forming will be introduced. Tips for creative problem solving will be discussed. New techniques and original projects will be shown each session. Students must know studio safety. Supplies can be purchased in class.

Jump right into metalsmithing even if you are a beginner. Make a beautiful spinner ring creating a wide band that allows smaller rings to spin around on the outside. Learn to sharpen your metalsmithing skills with measuring, cutting, soldering, forging and polishing your piece. You will complete a ring in this one-day workshop. Please plan on a material fee of $40 to $60 including tax payable to the instructor at the beginning of the class by check or credit card. Closed-toe shoes are a must.

This ring will literally roll right onto your finger and no, it is not just for the married folk! You will learn how to precisely size, cut, file, solder and polish the three bands that once completed will be fun to wear and garner lots of compliments. The rings consist of sterling, gold-filled and rose gold-filled wire. You will complete your ring in this one-day workshop. Material cost is between $45 and $60 plus tax payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. Hair must be pulled back and closed-toed shoes are a must.

Learn the ABCs of metalsmithing with a course that will teach you the confidence to saw, hammer, solder and forge metal into beautiful jewelry. This class will include safety as well as tips and tricks on your road to becoming a confident metalsmith. We will create a beautiful hook and loop clasp bracelet to complete the course. Cost of materials will range between $40 and $65 (depending on the stone chosen to create the clasp) plus tax and payable to the instructor on day one. Check and credit cards accepted. Please pull back hair and wear closed-toe shoes.

Discover the art and craft of jewelry making in this introductory course designed for beginners. Over the course of this program you will learn essential techniques to forge, pierce, form, solder, and polish your own unique pieces of jewelry. You will gain an understanding of metal and be able to manipulate its properties to suit your creations. Once your piece has taken shape you will learn various methods to polish and finish your creations, giving them a professional look. Emphasis will be placed on safety and efficient practices. Closed toe shoes are required. Denim and cotton clothing are highly recommended. New projects will be made during each series of classes. Materials such as metal and saw blades will be purchased during class. Supply fees are paid before each project. If you attend the evening class please bring a check.

Complex and advanced stone setting techniques, fabrication and mechanisms. Learn and expand your skills while developing your creativity. Students must be able to solder independently and have a design skill set. This is a technique based class. Demos’s will be introduced throughout the session. Students are expected to develop their own designs and projects, soldering independently, design skills, stone setting & tool safety.
