Beginners will learn basic techniques and apply them to a project (references provided); experienced artists can get guidance on completing their own projects. Various pencil sets will be available for use in class along with other tools. Sample papers are included. Watercolor pencils are also welcome.

Scratchboard is a fine art form that uses a surface covered with white clay and then a layer of black India ink. In class we will explore the different tools to remove the black ink to bring your image come to life. The student may choose to keep their boards black and white or proceed to colorize them. In class we will explore the different mediums used to colorize your scratchboards.
