Do you need a SPLASH of color? This class can make the difference. This is a NO pattern composition. I’ll help you with creating your own design using stitching, fabric, cording, beads and some surprise stuff that I will offer for use. Upon completion, you can hang them, put them over the back of a chair, use them as a table runner, etc. This is as new offering at the Herrig and I know you will love it, so bring your creativity and join me for a fun experience.

Supply fee payable at the first class of $55

Includes: fusor, fabric selection, backing, batting, beads, yarn & strings, use of ironing board and iron, cutting mats, rotary cutters.

Let’s paint what we do! A sunny window with tubes of paint, brushes and a journal with a painted rose.
This intermediate to advanced watercolor class encompasses various techniques to paint diverse elements that all come together to complete a beautiful painting.

Supplies
1. Your brushes and paints.
2. An 11×14 line drawing on Arches 140lb or 300lb cold press, or another professional 100% cotton watercolor paper that you use.
3. A backboard for your painting.
4. Any additional supplies you normally use.

Learn wheel throwing. If you’ve done it before, here’s your chance to hone your skills.
We will learn/review preparing the clay, centering, pulling and shaping. Depending on your level of skill, we will get into some ways of turning your pot into a work of art with altering, carving, adding slip, texturing, etc…  Class fee includes 25lbs. of clay, firing and in-studio glazes. Please bring tools or purchase a beginner kit at the front desk. It’s recommended you cut your nails short and don’t wear jewelry. Please bring a towel or apron.

We all love to look (and touch) the fresh fruit at a farmers market. Using the tomatoes as a reference in our 1st class, you will learn about reflective color, painting more 3D shapes as well as light/shadows. After that, you can apply what you’ve learned to your next painting from your still live photo references.

Learn the ABCs of metalsmithing with a course that will teach you the confidence to saw, hammer, solder and forge metal into beautiful jewelry. This class will include safety as well as tips and tricks on your road to becoming a confident metalsmith. We will create a beautiful hook and loop clasp bracelet to complete the course. Cost of materials will range between $100 and $200 depending on the type of metal used plus tax and payable to the instructor on day one. Check and credit cards accepted. Please pull back hair and wear closed-toe shoes.
