Fundamentals of Drawing, (Mondays) Janet Flickinger 2026

The foundation of all art is drawing, if you have never drawn before or just want to sharpen your skill this class is a must. Focusing on perspective, balance, form, and contrast as it all relates to composition; we will train the eye to take a drawing from sketch to finished artwork in the medium of your choice. Bring quality photos to use and I suggest choosing a subject you are passionate about.

Dipping Your Toes Into Watercolor, Karalee Hammes 2026

This is a great Beginners class. You will learn color mixing, hues & values. We will work together on a project discussing techniques & you will also bring an 8 x 10 image you would like to paint with provided individual attention. Night Passage, Kris Peterson 2026

This watercolor class focuses on painting a tranquil night scene of a sailboat under the moon as seen through a window. You will learn to use smooth, wet-on-wet washes to create a dark night sky surrounding the clouds which are illuminated by a bright full moon. We will capture the warm light of the lantern softly casting light upon the curtains. This is an intermediate to advanced class.

In this session, we will explore the balance between the vibrant, warm reds of geraniums and the deep, cool tones of a cobalt blue vase. This painting offers a wonderful opportunity to practice backlighting and transparency, specifically focusing on how to render rain droplets on a windowpane against the soft, blurred garden background.

Mastering Watercolor, Helen Solomon 2026

This class is designed for students with prior experience with watercolors who want to enhance their painting skills. This class is an excellent opportunity to learn new techniques and refine your artistry. You will actively explore color mixing and blending, create rich textures, and improve your overall artwork. Additionally, you will discover effective strategies for addressing mistakes and revitalizing your pieces, including the sink-dunk method. Using your vacation photographs as inspiration, you will create personalized works of art that reflect your unique perspective. Most importantly, this class aims to provide a rewarding and enjoyable experience as you progress in your artistic journey. Participation in discussions and demonstrations is highly encouraged.
