Have you ever wanted to throw on the wheel but were too nervous to try? This is the class for you. This 6 week, no pressure class will help you get on the wheel and create functional pieces. Class fee includes 25lbs of clay, firing, and in-studio glazes. Please bring tools or purchase a beginner kit at the front desk. Recommendations, do not wear any jewelry, cut nails short, bring a towel and/or apron.

Learn the basics of clay, glaze and hand building. During this 6-week course you will be introduced to basic hand building techniques, including pinch pots, coils, and slab work to name a few. Glaze techniques will also be discussed including layering, resist and sgraffito. Class fee includes 25lbs of clay, firing, and in-studio glazes. A fun and meditative way to create art using washi tape! In this hands on workshop, you’ll explore how paper tape can be used to build texture, define shapes, and add intricate patterns to your paintings. Through guided techniques and playful experimentation, you’ll learn how to layer, cut and integrate washi tape with acrylic paint and colored pencils to create a mixed media artwork. By the end of the session you will have a finished painting to take home and a fresh perspective on incorporating unconventional materials into your creative practice.

This class is designed for students who have prior experience with watercolors and want to enhance their painting skills. This class is an excellent opportunity to learn new techniques and refine your artistry. You will actively explore color mixing and blending, create rich textures, and improve your overall artwork. Additionally, you will discover effective strategies for addressing mistakes and revitalizing your pieces, including techniques such as the “sink-dunk” method.
Using your vacation photographs as inspiration, you will create personalized works of art that reflect your unique perspective. Most importantly, this class aims to provide a rewarding and enjoyable experience as you progress in your artistic journey. Participation in discussions and demonstrations is highly encouraged.

Join us for an enjoyable and enriching journey into watercolor painting! This exciting class is designed for both beginners and those with some experience. You will learn at your own pace, discover new techniques, and enhance your skills using your photographs as inspiration.
In this class, you will master drawing from photos, mixing and blending colors, creating textures, and bringing your artwork to life. You will also learn how to correct mistakes and improve your skills. Each class will start with a discussion and demonstration about color mixing, composition, and placement, allowing you to choose the topic.
This class aims to have fun and make new friends.

Whether you’re an abstract or representational artist, you’ll explore playful, intuitive methods to get started experimenting with torn paper, handmade collage materials, transfer techniques, sgraffito, and unconventional tools. You’ll loosen up, embrace spontaneity, and discover fresh ways to ignite your creative process.

Palette knife painting allows for beautiful textural results. Using a variety of palette knives and other specialty tools as well as heavy body acrylics, we will discuss substrate options and start-up techniques. Using basic design elements for discussion in each week’s critique session is designed to aid in achieving a well-balanced finished product. Subject matter is of your choosing; but plenty of optional ideas are available. It’s an experiment in FUN!

In this class, we will explore how to capture the energy and presence of a figure rather than focusing solely on precise details. Through expressive brushwork, color harmony, and thoughtful composition, we’ll learn to convey mood, movement and personality. Whether you work in oils, acrylics, or another medium, you’ll gain techniques to infuse your figures with life and authenticity. We will be painting from photographs for the first two classes, then from live models for the second two. Class fee includes live models.
