Fashion Design At The Dali Student Exhibition

by acm_admin

As community partners, Herrig Center for the ARTS supports The Dali Museum’s annual youth education program, Fashion Design At The Dali. This free program invites middle and high school students to learn the fundamentals of design, construction and concept presentation to create tangible connections between fashion and Salvador Dali’s art. Using selected works from The Dali as their inspiration, students learn advanced sewing techniques and explore the use of upcycled sewing techniques to transform their ideas into wearable works of art. Student work is showcased in the special exhibition and online.

Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society Annual Aqueous Exhibition

March 24 – April 17, 2026

Opening Reception: March 26, 5:00-7:00

The Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society was founded in 1983 with 17 Charter members and 24 Associate members. The original purpose to foster the advancement of and promote excellence in the art of watermedia painting remains their focus today. FSWS has grown to about 200 members spanning from Pasco county to Collier county.

“It was an honor to be asked to judge this exhibition. The level of work submitted was extremely high with a large number of paintings that were prize worthy, the most difficult part of this job was awarding prizes, as there were many more, that were also deserving of awards. If your work didn’t win a prize, please do not take it as a rejection, but understand there were not enough prizes to award all the deserving pieces. I found myself going back and forth on several pieces of work. Your organization can be proud of the high caliber of work in this exhibition. In the end the judging of any exhibition is subjective, and a result of the life time work and experience, the judge brings to this task.”

Cheryl Fausel – Juror

National Association of Women Artists – Florida Chapter 2nd Annual Member Exhibition

by acm_admin

NAWA – FL Chapter 2nd Annual Member Exhibition

March 24 – April 17, 2026

Opening Reception, Thursday March 26, 5:00-7:00

The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA), the first women’s fine art organization in the country, is a vibrant community of professional women artists that strives to support its members and women artists at large through exhibitions, programs and education. The history of NAWA is a testament to the strength and resilience of a group of strong women who would not accept being shut out of the art salons, galleries and art exhibitions open to male artists during the 19th century. In 1889 their founding of the organization that subsequently became the National Association of Women Artists, Inc. proves that, despite adversity and discrimination – which many feel extends to this day – women are an integral and valuable part of the arts community. NAWA members represent all areas of the visual arts including painting, sculpture, photography, print-making, encaustic, video art, installations and mixed media.

The Florida Chapter carries out the mission of the NAWA, Inc., in Florida. The Chapter has an active program of regional exhibitions, seminars, and other educational activities, as well as sponsoring annual scholarships for talented and needy art students. Most of the Chapter’s activities occur during the seasonal period between November and May, with occasional exhibitions outside of this period.

Juror Statement:

It is a pleasure and an honor to jury the NAWAFL, The Florida Chapter of the National Association of Women Artists show. The first women’s Fine Art organization in the country, founded in 1889.
The number and high quality of the entries is truly impressive. It demonstrates the vitality and diversity of women’s voices in contemporary art and how far we have traveled. In selecting the works, I apply criteria that are timeless, such as technical skills, composition/color choices, originality, professional presentation… In addition, I want to know what concept was used to create this piece.
And also very importantly, does this work draw me in? stirs emotions? Stand above the rest?
In the end, the choices are always difficult as so many entries are of high quality and would deserve their own awards. I want to take this moment to thank all the participants, well done!
