This is a class for the young artist. The class is focusing on all aspects of art. We will train the eye how to see as it related to direction of line, curves, form, shape, contrast, etc. We will learn how to look at something and draw it exactly. All projects will be finished in pencil, color pencil, or watercolor. Once the basics are learned, we will focus on design and composition. Students are to bring pictures they want to draw. All art supplies for this class are provided.

Create your own enchanted creature of the forest, and discover the magical world of paper mache. This 5-session class covers it all, from basic sculpting techniques to whimsical embellishments such as clothing, wings and yarn hair. Perfect for lovers of fantasy, storytelling, and tactile creativity! Students should supply their own scissors, wire cutters and an empty plastic pill bottle (for the body). All other materials will be provided for a $30 supply fee paid on the first day of class.

Unleash your creativity in this vibrant, hands-on class where students will create fantastical dragonflies using paper mache, wire armature and dazzling embellishments. Inspired by nature and imagination, you’ll sculpt and paint your own shimmering dragonfly, bringing it to life with colorful wings, metallic paints and bling. Not only fun, this call is for anyone who loves to create something beautiful and totally unique. This is a 5-week workshop. Please supply your own scissors, wire cutters and glue guns. All other materials will be provided for a $30 supply fee paid on the first day of class.

Painting mountains is all about creating greater depth in your artwork. You will learn about how to use color temperature (warm and cool) as well as the various types of edges to create that feeling. Since mountains are panoramic views, cut your paper more horizontal to enhance that feeling. You will create a sample painting in the first class. From there you can create your own landscape image from your photo references.
