Thank you to the Herrig Center for allowing me the privilege of serving as juror for this delightfully conceived summer show. The artistic community is alive and thriving here in Bradenton, and I know how deeply we all appreciate being a part of it, especially in this wonderful new space.
It was such a joy to see the rich variety of submissions – 2D, 3D and jewelry, represented in both contemporary and traditional ways by you all, in a beautiful array of Summer Color. I thank every one of you who faced the scary prospect of entering an art show and found the courage to put yourself and your work out here for us all to appreciate. Well done! And if your entry did not make the final cut for whatever reason, I hope you will enter again when there are different criteria, and I thank you for the opportunity to see your inspiring work.
There were a wonderful number of entrants, 113 ,and my main focus was on putting together a show that reflected the overarching concept of Summer Color as a whole, and all of your many and varied entries made that a pleasure. I loved the many different mediums, processes, and styles, and hope the result of my final selections will be a delightful experience for visitors of the Herrig Center and the show.
