Join us for an immersive one-day workshop where we explore the elegance of high-contrast floral painting. You will learn to render the delicate petals of a white Iris using a limited palette of subtle grays. To make the flower truly "pop," we will frame it with a deep, velvety black gouache background—a technique that is surprisingly easy but incredibly effective.
Supply list.
Greens and yellows from your palette, a small tube of any black goauche, and a light gray watercolor. I'll be using Gray of Gray for the flower and will supply it if you do not have it.
A completed line drawing on Arches 140 lb.
This is an intermediate to advanced class.
