Creating on the Wheel, Ted Camp 2025-2026

Creating on the Wheel, Ted Camp 2025-2026

Clay Handbuilding     B-A
Ted Camp

Wednesdays: 9:00 - 12:00

Wheel throwing attracts students who particularly like symmetrically round objects and challenges them to learn how to control the development of a particular form. The basic steps for throwing will be the focus for beginners, while more advanced students will be challenged by more complex forms and techniques, which will lead to all students achieving success through practice. Whether the focus is on the traditional drinking vessel or the more challenging lidded container, including the tea pot, numerous demonstrations will provide the way to success. Students will also explore the myriad ways to apply glazes to their pieces and experience the difference between mid-fire (cone 6 electric). Bring your own tools or purchase a beginners kit at the front desk or online. Class fee includes 25 lbs. of clay, firing, and in-studio glazing.
