Every wonder who some artist get such precise drawing on their pottery? Screen-printing with underglaze is one way. Come join us for a 3 hour workshop on screen-printing. You will need 2 (bisque) flat surface pieces. Approximately 5″ or larger. Class fee includes screen medium, underglazes and screen artwork.

You will learn the basics of hand building ceramic objects both functional and sculptural. Methods explored include pinch pots, coils, and slab work. Students will be introduced to numerous glazing techniques that allow them to explore mid-fire (cone 6 electric) and hi-fire (cone 10 reduction) glazes.
Bring your own pottery tools or purchase a beginners kit at the front desk.

This class is designed for beginners and intermediates. Learn throwing, trimming, glazing and firing techniques with plenty of one-on-one instruction. You will be shown how to create basic forms as well as more complicated forms such as lidded jars, mugs and teapots. Additional instruction will include how to apply texture to clay to create decorative surfaces. Bring pottery tools or purchase a set of tools from the gift shop. Class fee includes 25lbs of stoneware clay, glazes, in-studio bisque and glaze firing.

The basic steps for throwing will be the focus for beginners, while more advanced students will be challenged by more complex forms and techniques, which will lead to all students achieving success through practice. Whether the focus is on the traditional drinking vessel or the more challenging lidded container, including the tea pot, numerous demonstrations will provide the way to success. Students will also explore the myriad ways to apply glazes to their pieces and experience the difference between mid-fire (cone 6 electric) and hi-fire (cone 10 reduction) glazes.
