DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: October 10th\, 5 to 7 pm\, free and open to the public. \nKellogg\, Searle and Reid Hodges Galleries: Go Wild\, an open\, all media juried exhibition.  The word wild can be interpreted in so many ways: the wild west\, wild at heart\, a walk on the wild side\, even wildlife.  Artists are asked to submit work reflecting their own interpretation of the word wild\, subjects can be abstract or representational.  As we shift into fall and hopefully cooler weather\, join us as we celebrate everything that is wild about this time of year.

SUMMARY:3rd Annual Chef's Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Three local celebrity chefs will prepare our appetizers for the evening. Each chef will prepare 3 appetizers-2 hearty protein & 1 vegetarian and have 30 minutes to prepare each one. Once completed we will have servers distribute the freshly prepared food throughout the galleries and studios. At the end of all appetizers being prepared\, our guests then vote for their favorite chef. \nWhile the chefs prepare the food; our guests can enjoy live music\, visit the studios to watch live art happening and have a chance to win a piece of art at the end of the evening through the live art raffle. \nOnce the savory chefs have completed their 3 appetizers; we move to the dessert chefs (2 local) to have their round of excitement too! They will each have 30 minutes to prepare their dessert offerings-1 each. At the end of the dessert preparation; our guest then vote for their favorite dessert chef. The winning chefs will be announced and will take home an engraved trophy. They have the opportunity to return the next year to compete again to keep their title! All proceeds benefit out education and outreach programming.

DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: September 12th\, 5 to 7 pm\, free and open to the public. \nKellogg & Searle Galleries: Something Tasty\, an open\, all media juried exhibition with a culinary and mixology theme.  The theme of this show\, “Something Tasty”\, permits a variety of ways to interpret food or drink visually-from the colorful bounty of the shop or market to the balanced beauty of a still life; from scenes that evoke memories of everyday experiences to unexpected juxtapositions and whimsy.  Artists are asked to submit work reflecting the wide diversity of the culinary and mixology world.  Visitors are bound to leave hungry! \nReid Hodges Gallery: Art Center Manatee Instructor Showcase.  Herrig Center for the Arts is proud to highlight the works of our very talented faculty as we kick off our Fall/Winter schedule of classes.  All mediums are represented\, including silver-smithing\, pottery\, watercolor\, acrylics\, oil\, sculpture\, pastels\, scratchboard\, fused and stained glass\, mixed media and more.  Live demonstrations will be held in all studios during the Opening Reception on September 12th from 5 to 7 pm.
